learned District Munsif Court, Ponnamaravathi. 2.The learned counsel for the petitioners submitted that two applications were filed before the trial Court-one seeking amendment of the plaint and another for impleading a party. It was contended that the amendment was sought to correct a typographical error relating to the date of death of the plaintiff's father. However, the trial Court rejected the said contention, observing that the alleged error could not be accepted as a mere typographical mistake arising out of cutting and pasting.

3.It was further submitted that although the suit was instituted in the year 2023, the amendment application was filed only in the year 2025, after a considerable delay of nearly three years. This delay casts doubt on the claim that the plaintiff was unaware of the alleged error at the time of filing the plaint. Therefore, such belated amendment cannot be entertained. Even though the matter is at the pre-trial stage, no sufficient grounds have been made out to allow the amendment.

4.The learned counsel further submitted that since the parties and the issues involved are one and the same, a joint trial may be conducted. 2/4

5.Such a request, if made by way of a proper application, may be considered by the trial Court in accordance with law. 6.With the above observations, these Civil Revision Petitions are disposed of. No costs. Consequently, connected miscellaneous petition is closed.
