O R D E R

This Criminal Original Petition has been filed seeking direction to the respondents to expedite the investigation in Crime No.396 of 2015 on the file of the first respondent and file final report within a time.

2.According to the petitioner, she has given a complaint before the first respondent on 02.09.2015 for the offences punishable under Sections 294(b), 506(i) and 420 IPC r/w 40 of the Tamil Nadu Prohibition of Harassment of Women Act, 1999 of I.P.C, based on which, a case has been registered in Crime No.396 of 2015. Even though, the case was registered in the year 2015, investigation has not yet been completed and final report has not been filed. https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/

3.Today, when the matter was taken up for hearing, the learned Government Advocate (Criminal Side) appearing for the respondents, on instructions, submitted that investigation is in progress and the second respondent will complete the investigation and file the final report, within a period of two months, before the concerned Jurisdictional Court.

4.Recording the statement so made, the second respondent is directed to complete the investigation in Crime No.396 of 2015 and file final report, within a period of two months from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

5. With the above direction, this Criminal Original Petition is closed.
