The petitioner claiming to be a member of Thiruppani Committee of Arulmigu Thirowpathy Amman Thirukoil, Chokkalingapuram, Melur Madurai District has filed this writ petition for a Mandamus, seeking for an extension of time for conducting Kumbabishekam of the temple by six months that the renovation work of the temple was not completed till date. 2.The learned counsel for the petitioner submits that the committee has decided to perform Kumbabishekam for the above temple as soon as the renovation works have been completed. However, due to natural calamities, the works have not been completed as planned. Palalayam was performed in the said temple on 20.08.2023.

3.Mr.P.Subba Raj, learned Special Government Pleader takes notice for the respondents and submits that this petitioner is not a member of the Thiruppani Committee of the above temple. He has not been assigned with any work in the temple. However, he has filed this writ petition seeking extension of time. The renovation work has already been commenced in the temple and the works can be completed within a period of four weeks. Depending upon the completion of the work, congregation function will be conducted in an auspicious day.
