ORDER
The Writ Petition has been filed seeking issuance of a Writ of Mandamus, directing the respondents to conclude the proceedings in COLREVCOLR-29818/2024-B5 dated 10.07.2024, on the file of the second respondent, pending before the third respondent with respect to rectification of the extent error in UDR Patta No.703 in S.F.No.286/8 to an extent of 1.34.0 Ares, situated at Ayanreddiyapatti Village, Manapparai Taluk, Trichy District, within time frame to be fixed by this Court.
2. By consent, the Writ Petition is taken up for final disposal at the admission stage itself.
3. The learned counsel for the petitioner submits that the subject property is ancestral in nature and that the petitioner and his family members are in possession and enjoyment thereof. During the UDR sub-division, the extent of the property was wrongly mentioned in the UDR computer chitta. Seeking to rectify the said error, the petitioner has submitted a representation dated 18.06.2024 to the respondents. Pursuant to the said representation, the second respondent initiated proceedings dated 10.07.2024. Thereafter, the same is still pending without any progress. Hence, the petitioner has approached this Court by filing the present writ petition for the relief stated supra.
4. The learned Additional Government Pleader appearing for the respondents would submit that the enquiry will be completed and appropriate orders will be passed within a period of twelve weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
5. Recording the aforesaid submission and without expressing any opinion on the merits of the matter, this writ petition is disposed of with a direction to the second respondent to conclude the proceedings dated 10.07.2024 and pass
appropriate orders on merits and in accordance with law, after providing reasonable opportunity during such enquiry to the petitioner, and also any other persons, who may be affected by such decision, within a period of twelve weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. In the event of any rival claims, the parties are at liberty to work out their remedies before the Civil Court. There shall be no order as to costs.
