Prayer: Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India to issue Writ of Mandamus, directing the respondents to grant permission and accord protection to conduct Kabadi Tournament scheduled on 13.02.2021 and 14.02.2021 in Keelakurichi Anna Nagar Thidal, Keelakalkandarkottai, Trichy District based on the petitioner's representation dated 09.02.2021. By consent, this Writ Petition is taken up for final hearing at the admission stage itself.
2. The petitioner has filed this petition seeking permission to conduct Kabadi Tournament on 13.02.2021 and 14.02.2021 at Keelakurichi Anna Nagar Thidal, Keelakalkandarkottai, Trichy District.
3. Mr.R.Saravana Kumar, learned Government Advocate (Criminal Side), who accepts notice on behalf of the respondents, on instructions, would contend that the petitioner's representation dated 09.02.2021 was rejected citing the present Covid-19 pandemic situation. However, he would submit that since certain relaxations are made by the Government in the subsequent Government Orders, the petitioner may be directed to file a fresh representation before the District Collector, Trichy District, who is the competent authority to pass appropriate orders.
4. Considering the said submissions made by the learned Government Advocate (Criminal Side), the petitioner, if so advised, can file a fresh petition before the District Collector, Trichy District, and on receipt of the same, the District Collector, Trichy District, shall consider the same and pass appropriate orders based https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/ 1/2
W.P.(MD)No.2663 of 2021 on findings and on merits and in accordance with law within a period of two weeks from the date of receipt of representation of the petitioner.
