ORDER

By consent of both the parties, this writ petition is taken up for final hearing at the admission stage itself.

2. This writ petition is seeking to direct the respondents 1 and 2 to dispense the claim amount from the petitioner's deceased husband's Account No. 445727075, based on the claim application given to the 2nd respondent dated 11.07.2024.

When the matter came up for hearing, the learned Standing Counsel appearing for the respondent Bank submitted that the Bank is ready to dispense the claim amount to the legal heirs of the deceased customer on production of KYC documents, the petitioner's signature, and other required documents. He further submitted that the petitioner must make a personal appearance before the second respondent bank and after obtaining the necessary signature from the petitioner, the documents will be forwarded to the Regional Office. Upon sanction from the Regional Office, the amount will be dispensed to the petitioner.

4. Recording the same, this Court hereby direct the petitioner to forthwith appear before the second respondent Bank, submit the necessary documents, and affix the signature in the required form. Thereafter, within a period of three days, the respondent second respondent Bank is directed to forward the same to the Regional Office for appropriate sanction. On receipt of the same, the Regional Office is directed to sanction the amount within a period of two weeks therefrom.

5. With the above said direction, this Writ Petition stands allowed. No costs.
