Prayer : Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, for issuance of a Writ of Certiorarified Mandamus, to call for the records relating to the impugned order dated 31.01.2024 passed by the respondents on the application made by the petitioner in Application reference No. 200054030124169 and quash the same and consequently direct the respondents to grant the petitioner with an electricity service connection by considering her online application dated 31.01.2024 in Application reference No.200054030124169 within a stipulated time fixed by this Court.

This writ petition has been filed challenging the impugned order dated 31.01.2024, passed by the respondents, on the application made by the petitioner in Application reference No.200054030124169 and to quash the same and consequently direct the respondents to grant the petitioner with an electricity service connection, by considering her 2/5

online application dated 31.01.2024 in Application reference No. 200054030124169.

2. By consent of both the parties, this writ petition is taken up for final disposal at the admission stage itself.

3. Heard the learned counsel for the petitioner, learned Additional Government Pleader appearing for the first respondent and the learned Standing counsel appearing for the respondents 2 to 4.

4. The issue on hand is covered by the earlier order dated 05.10.2023 made in W.P.(MD).No.4129 of 2022. It was observed that on the ground that the premises in question is located within five hundred meters of Sambai Ootru, the applicant cannot be denied electricity service connection. The same principle will apply in the present case also. The impugned order is quashed. TANGEDCO is directed to provide electricity service connection to the petitioner subject to the fulfilment of the other usual formalities.

5. This Writ Petition is disposed of. No costs. Consequently, the connected Miscellaneous Petition is closed.
