PRAYER : Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, seeking a Writ of Mandamus, directing the respondents to transfer the petitioner herein for providing better treatment to the accused No.2, Selvakumar, from Mahatma Gandhi Memorial Government Hospital, Tiruchirapalli to Atlas Multi Speciality Hospital, Mainguard gate, Tiruchirapalli.

ORDER
The prayer sought for in the present writ petition is to direct the respondents herein to transfer the petitioner's husband accused No.2, Selvakumar, from Mahatma Gandhi Memorial Government Hospital, Tiruchirapalli to Atlas Multi Speciality Hospital, Mainguard gate, Tiruchirapalli, for providing better treatment.
2. The learned counsel appearing for the petitioner would submit that the petitioner's husband sustained severe injuries due to police 2/6
atrocity and thereby his leg was broken and he was taken to Government Hospital, Thuvakudi and thereafter he was taken to Government Hospital, Tiruchirapalli and now taking treatment. The petitioner's husband is a diabetic patient and proper treatment was given to him. Inorder to give better treatment to the petitioner's husband he has to be transferred from Government Hospital, Tiruchirapalli to Atlas Multi Speciality Hospital, Tiruchirapalli.
3. The learned Government Advocate(Crl.Side) appearing for the respondents 1 to 3 filed a status report stating that already surgery was done to the petitioner and now he is stable, therefore the prayer sought for in the petition has become infructuous.
4. This Court perused the status report of the third respondent and report of the Dean, Mahatma Gandhi Memorial Government Hospital, Tiruchirapalli. As per the report of the Dean, Selvakumar, the husband of the petitioner underwent surgery on 03.02.2024 and thereafter routine investigation is done and the patient is stable. 3/6
5. Since already surgery was done to the husband of the petitioner and he was taking treatment in the Government hospital, Tiruchirapalli the prayer of the petitioner has become infructuous.
6. In view of the same, the Writ Petition stands closed. It is for the medical authorities to provide appropriate medical treatment to the petitioner. No costs.
