This writ petition has been filed by the petitioner seeking a writ of mandamus directing the third respondent - Bank to take action based on her representation dated 15.10.2024.

As seen from the petitioner's representation and the contents of the affidavit filed in support of the writ petition, the claim of the petitioner is for release of the amounts that is lying in the third respondent - Bank in the name of her deceased grandmother. The basis for the claim of the petitioner is that her father was nominated to receive the said amount, but, now, he is also no more. Thus, she is not a nominee for the amounts belonging to her grandmother lying with the third respondent - Bank.

3. Admittedly, there are several other legal successors to the petitioner's grandmother as well as her father and there appears to be certain disputes among them as well. In such circumstances, there is no purpose in

directing the respondent - Bank to consider the representation dated 15.10.2024 said to have been submitted by the petitioner. Appropriate legal course for the petitioner would be to obtain a succession certificate in respect of the amounts lying with the third respondent - Bank.

4. In view of the same, leaving it open to the petitioner to take appropriate proceedings for issuance of a succession certificate, this writ petition is dismissed. No costs.
