ORDER

The writ petition has been filed for issuance of a Writ of Mandamus to direct the second respondent to issue free house site patta to the petitioner.

2.Considering the limited scope of the prayer sought for in the writ petition, the writ petition itself is taken up for final disposal with the consent of the parties.

3.The petitioner claims to be a fisherman by profession and in occupation of the subject lands for over 40 years under the classification as 'Natham' in revenue records. The petitioner also faced civil suit proceedings in O.S.No.217 of 2000 by a nearby resident named Leela. However, the said suit was dismissed in favour of the petitioner on 10.03.2018 by the District Munsif Court, Valliore. The appeal preferred by the said Leela and her family also came to be dismissed on 02.12.2014. Thereafter, the petitioner has been requesting the respondents to issue a free house site patta. The petitioner gave a 2/4

representation on 15.12.2023, which was forwarded to the first respondent to the second respondent on 01.02.2024. Thereafter, the petitioner has again given a representation on 13.12.2024 seeking the application of the petitioner to be disposed of expeditiously. 4.In view of the above, I am inclined to entertain the writ petition and there shall be a writ of mandamus issued directing the second respondent to enquire into the matter based on the representation of the petitioner dated 13.12.2024 and if found eligible, the second respondent shall issue free house site patta to the petitioner in respect of the lands in S.No.739/1, Kuttam Village, Tisayanvillai Taluk, within a period of eight weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

5.Accordingly, the Writ Petition is allowed on the above terms. No costs.
