O R D E R

This petition has been filed to quash the First Information Report in Crime No. 1 of 2021 dated 18.01.2021 pending on the file of the first respondent police.

2. The case has been registered for the offences punishable under Sections 498(A), 294(b), 323, 506(1) of IPC r/w 3(1)(s) and 3 (1)(r) of the Scheduled Caste and Schedule Tribes Amendment Act, 2015 on the basis of the complaint given by the second respondent. It appears that there is matrimonial dispute between the husband and wife in which all in-laws have been roped in. Based upon a joint compromise memo, this petition has been filed for quashing the First Information Report.

3. When the matter is taken for hearing, the petitioners/A1 to A4, the second respondent and their respective counsel are present https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/ 1/2

Crl.O.P.(MD)No.2893 of 2021 before this Court through video conference. The identity of the parties are verified by the respective counsel. When this Court enquired with the parties, it is seen that they have compromised the dispute and the husband and wife are living together and the wife is 5 months pregnant. The second respondent is willing to quash the case in Crime No. 1 of 2021. In view of the compromise entered into the parties, no purpose would be served in keeping proceedings pending.

4. Recording the joint compromise memo dated 11.02.2021, the First Information Report in Crime No. 1 of 2021 on the file of the first respondent police is hereby quashed. The joint compromise memo shall form part of this order.

5. In fine, this petition is allowed.
