ORDER

This Writ Petition has been filed seeking issuance of a Writ of Mandamus, directing the first respondent to expedite the disposal of the petitioner's petition dated 23.09.2025 in Na.Ka.No.A6/9107/2025, to issue Patta for Survey No.259/2, situated at Pattinamkaathan Group, Ramanathapuram Taluk, Ramanathapuram District, within a time frame to be stipulated by this Court.

2. By consent, the Writ Petition is taken up for final disposal at the admission stage itself.

3. Since no adverse orders are going to be passed against the respondents 3 to 15, notice to the respondents 3 to 15 is hereby dispensed with.

4. The learned counsel for the petitioner submitted that the subject property is ancestral in nature and that the petitioner and other legal heirs are in peaceful possession and enjoyment thereof. However, the entire extent of the property has been unlawfully transferred by one Thiyagarajan and Rajendran, who are copattadhars, in favour of third parties without the consent or knowledge of the other co-pattadhars. Therefore, the petitioner approached the first respondent and submitted a petition seeking to declare the said illegal transfer as null and void and to restore the joint patta as it existed earlier. However, till date, no enquiry has been conducted, and the said petition has been kept pending without any progress. Hence, the petitioner has been constrained to approach this Court by filing the present writ petition seeking the relief stated supra.

5. The learned Additional Government Pleader appearing for the respondents 1 and 2 submitted that the petitioner's petition will be considered and appropriate orders will be passed on merits and in accordance with law within the time frame to be fixed by this Court.

6. Recording the above submission and without expressing any opinion on the merits of the matter, this Writ Petition is disposed of with a direction to the first respondent to consider the petitioner's petition, dated 23.09.2025 and pass appropriate orders on merits and in accordance with law after providing reasonable opportunity of hearing to the petitioner, the respondents 3 to 15 and any other persons, who may be affected by such decision, within a period of sixteen weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. There shall be no order as to costs.
