ORDER

This Writ Petition is filed seeking a Writ of Mandamus directing the respondent herein to issue sub-division pattas in respect of 44 Cents of land comprised in Sy.No.16/3C1A1 (formerly Sy. No.157/3) and 76 Cents of land comprised in Sy.No.17/1A1A1 (formerly Sy. No. 158/1 and 158/2), Sirudhur Village, Thiruppalai Revenue Group, Madurai North Taluk, Madurai District, in favour of the petitioner, based on the online applications bearing Appln. Nos. 2025/0105/24/790660 and 2026/0105/24/003149 dated 07.11.2025 and 19.01.2026 respectively, submitted by the petitioner, within a reasonable time frame stipulated by this Court.

2. By consent, the Writ Petition is taken up for final disposal at the admission stage itself.

3. The learned counsel for the petitioner would submit that the petitioner is the lawful owner of the subject properties and continues to be in possession and enjoyment thereof. Though the petitioner submitted application to the respondent seeking to issue subdivision Patta, no action has been taken till date, compelling the petitioner to file the present Writ Petition.

4. The learned Additional Government Pleader appearing for the respondent would submit that the petitioner's applications will be considered and appropriate orders will be passed on merits and in accordance with law within a time frame to be fixed by this Court.

5. Recording the above submission, and without expressing any opinion on the merits of the matter, this writ petition is disposed of with a direction to the respondent to consider the petitioner's applications dated 07.11.2025 and 19.01.2026, and pass appropriate orders on merits and in accordance with law, after affording an opportunity of hearing to all the necessary parties, within a period of sixteen weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. Needless to state that in the event of any rival claims, the parties are at liberty to work out their remedies before the Civil Court. There shall be no order as to costs.
