O R D E R

[Order of the Court was made by D.KRISHNAKUMAR, J.] This Writ Petition has been filed for issuance of a Writ of Mandamus, directing the respondents to grant permission and protection to the Vadamadu Event to be conducted on 18.02.2023 at 8.00 am in Muthapudaiyanpatti Post, Manaparai Taluk, Trichy District, on the basis of the petitioner's representation dated 22.01.2024 within a time frame.

2. By consent of both sides, the Writ Petition is taken up for final hearing at the time of admission itself.

3. According to the petitioner, he made a representation on 22.01.2024 to the respondents for permission and protection for conducting the Vadamadu Event on 18.02.2023, in Muthapudaiyanpatti Post, Manaparai Taluk, Trichy District, but till now no order has been passed. Hence, the Writ Petition.

4. According to the learned counsel for the petitioner, the petitioner would be satisfied if a direction is issued to the 1st respondent to consider the representation of the petitioner dated 22.01.2024 on merits and in accordance with law.

5. Considering the limited scope of the prayer now sought for by the petitioner, without going into the merits of the claim made by the petitioner either in the Writ Petition or in the representation, this Court directs the 1st respondent to consider the representation of the petitioner dated 22.01.2024 and pass appropriate orders on merits and in accordance with law on or before 16.02.2023, after providing opportunity of hearing to the petitioner.

6. With the aforesaid directions, the Writ Petition stands disposed of. No costs.
