Heard the learned counsel on either side.

2.The petitioner has submitted a representation dated 31.12.2018 to the first respondent seeking renewal of his gun license. The same was rejected vide order 02.08.2022. Questioning the same, the petitioner has filed an appeal before the first respondent on 07.09.2022. Since the same was not considered, the petitioner has filed the present writ petition seeking its expeditiously disposal.

3.No exception can be taken to the said request. The first respondent is directed to dispose of the petition mentioned appeal on merits and in accordance with law within a period of sixteen weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. I make it clear that I have not gone into the merits of the matter. The second respondent shall put the interested persons on notice before passing final order. It is open to the first respondent to pass order one way or the other.
