O R D E R
This Writ Petition has been filed seeking a direction to the respondents to forthwith take necessary action to close the existing TASMAC Bar attached to TASMAC Shop No.4872, situated at Athikkadai, Dharmapuram Panchayat, Agastheeswaram Taluk, Kanyakumari District, as the said bar is allegedly being run in violation of Section 10 of the Tamil Nadu Liquor Retail Vending (in Shops and Bars) Rules, 2003, and to consider the petitioner's representation dated 15.12.2025 within the time stipulated by this Court.
2. It is the case of the petitioner that the third respondent is running a TASMAC bar without adhering to the statutory provisions of the TASMAC Rules. Hence, the petitioner submitted a representation dated 15.12.2025 to the concerned respondents seeking appropriate action for 2/5
closure of the bar. However, the said representation has not been considered till date. Therefore, the petitioner has filed the present writ petition.
3. The learned Government Advocate appearing for the first respondent submitted that the petitioner's representation would be considered in accordance with law.
4. In view of the above submission, this Court, without expressing any opinion on the merits of the matter, directs the third respondent to consider the petitioner's representation dated 15.12.2025 and pass appropriate orders on merits and in accordance with law, within a period of four weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
