Prayer: Writ Petition - filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, praying this Court to issue a Writ of Mandamus, directing the respondent to dispose the Revision filed by the petitioner dated 13.06.2023 under Section 13 of the Tamil Nadu Patta Pass Book Act, 1983 within the time stipulated by this Court.

ORDER

This writ petition has been filed for issuance of writ of mandamus directing the respondent to dispose the Revision filed by the petitioner dated 13.06.2023 under Section 13 of the Tamil Nadu Patta Pass Book Act, 1983 within the time stipulated by this Court.

2. Heard the learned counsel appearing for the petitioner and the learned Additional Government Pleader appearing for the respondent. By consent of both parties, the Writ Petition is taken up for final disposal at the admission stage itself.

3. The case of the petitioner is that the petitioner's grandfather purchased the subject property vide a registered sale deed. Since then the petitioner is in possession and enjoyment of the same. Due to the dispute over the property, an appeal has been preferred before the revenue divisional officer, which was dismissed. As against which, the petitioner filed a revision before the respondent. Since the same has not been considered till date, the present writ petition has been filed.

4. The learned Additional Government Pleader appearing for the respondent would submit that the petitioner's revision will be disposed of by the respondent in accordance with law within the time stipulated by this Court.

In view of the above said submission, this Court, without expressing any opinion on the merits of the matter, directs the respondent to dispose of the revision filed by the petitioner dated 13.06.2023 under Section 13 of the Tamil Nadu Patta Pass Book Act, 1983 and pass appropriate orders on merits and in accordance with law, after affording an opportunity of hearing to the parties concerned, within a period of sixteen (16) weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

6. With the above direction, the writ Petition stands disposed of. No costs.
