ORDER

The present writ petition has been filed seeking a direction to the respondents to conclude the disciplinary proceedings initiated against the petitioner and disburse the retirement benefits within the time period stipulated by this Court.

2.By consent of both parties and considering the limited relief sought for by the petitioner, the Writ Petition is taken up for final disposal at the stage of admission itself.

3.Heard, the learned counsel appearing for the petitioner and the learned Special Government Pleader appearing for the respondents. Perused the materials on record.

4.The petitioner was initially appointed in the post of Agricultural Officer in the year 1986 and further promoted to the post of Assistant Director of Agriculture and then to Deputy Director of Agriculture. On attaining the age of superannuation, he retired from service on 29.02.2020. Vide G.O(D)No.47, Agriculture (AA2) Department, dated 29.02.2020, he was permitted to retire 2/5

from service, without prejudice to the disciplinary proceedings pending against him. However, the disciplinary proceedings are kept pending endlessly. In this regard, on 22.01.2024 the petitioner has sent a detailed representation to the petitioner seeking to conclude the disciplinary proceedings at the earliest. However, the same were not considered. Hence, this petition came to be filed. 5.Considering the nature of relief sought for by the petitioner, I hereby direct the Disciplinary Authority/first respondent to conclude the pending disciplinary proceedings pending against the petitioner, within a period of eight weeks, from the date of receipt of copy of this order. 6.With the above direction, this writ petition stands disposed of. There shall be no order as to costs.
