ORDER

This Writ Petition has been filed seeking issuance of a Writ of Mandamus directing respondents 1 to 3 to provide adequate police protection for conducting the Varushabhisekam and Annadhanam events proposed to be held on 13.02.2026 at Arulmigu Sri Vaigai Karai Ayyanar Temple, Alangarakulam Sri Sonaiya Swamy Temple, Manamadurai, Sivagangai District. The petitioner further seeks a direction to ensure that no "first honour" is accorded to any individual participating in the event, without disturbing the existing religious practices, based on his 2/5

representation dated 19.01.2026.

2. The case of the petitioner is that he is the present trustee of the said temple. However, the respondents 4 to 7 also claim to be trustees. Admittedly, there is a dispute with regard to the trusteeship. Both parties have filed Form No.7 application, which are presently pending adjudication before the competent authority.

3. In view of the pending dispute regarding trusteeship, this Court cannot, at this stage, recognise or confer trusteeship upon the petitioner. Consequently, the petitioner cannot claim an exclusive right to conduct the Varushabhisekam and Annadhanam scheduled on 13.02.2026 in the aforesaid temple, even under the guise of being the Trust President.

4. If the relief sought for in this Writ Petition is granted, it would prejudice the claim of the rival parties whose applications are pending consideration. Therefore, this Court is not inclined to entertain the request for police protection as prayed for.

5. Accordingly, this Writ Petition stands dismissed. 3/5
