This Writ Petition is filed to to call for the records pertaining to the impugned E-mail communication of the respondents dated 01.02.2020 and quash the same as illegal and consequently direct the respondents to allow the petitioner(Enrollment No.2401260) to participate in the Medical Test for the post of Grade-II Police Constable (Men, Women & Transgender) Grade-II Jail Warder (Men and Women) and Fireman (Men) for the year 2019. 1/5
2. Mr.K.Chellapandian, Additional Advocate General, assisted by Mr.K.Mu.Muthu, Additional Government Pleader takes notice for the respondents. By consent of both parties, this Writ Petition is taken up for final hearing at the stage of admission itself.
3. The case of the petitioner is that he had applied for the post of Grade II Police Constable (Men, Women & Transgender), Grade II Jail Warder (Men & Women) and Fireman (Men) for the year 2019 under sports quota. After completion of written test, Physical measurement test, Endurance Test and physical Efficiency test and during certificate verification, he had received an email from the respondents stating that his status of application has been changed from sports quota to General Category, on the ground that at the time of certificate verification, it was found that the sports certificates produced by the petitioner is ineligible/unrecognized by Sports Development Authority of Tamil Nadu. Hence, the petitioner has made his representation on 03.02.2020, requesting the respondents to consider his application under the sports quota. Since the respondents have not taken any steps, the petitioner is before this court with this present Writ Petition.
4. Considering the limited scope of this Writ Petition, the respondents are directed to dispose of the petitioner's representation dated 03.02.2020, within a period of four weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
5. With the above direction, the Writ Petition is disposed of. No costs. Consequently, connected Miscellaneous Petitions are closed.
