Prayer: Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India to issue Writ of Certiorarified Mandamus, calling for the records in Na.Ka.No.01/D5PS/RSM/2021 dated 10-02-2021 passed by the second respondent and quash the same and consequently direct the respondents to give permission and protection to conduct Kabadi tournament at Pottakottai Village, R.S.Mangalam Taluk, Ramanathapuram District on 20-02-2021 and 21-01-2021. ORDER

By consent, this Writ Petition is taken up for final hearing at the admission stage itself.

2. The petitioner has filed this petition seeking permission to conduct Kabadi Tournament on 20.02.2021 and 21.02.2021 at Pottakottai Village, R.S.Mangalam Taluk, Ramanathapuram District.

3. Mr.R.Saravana Kumar, learned Government Advocate (Criminal Side), who accepts notice on behalf of the respondents, on instructions, would contend that the petitioner's representation dated 09.02.2021 was rejected by the second respondent on 10.02.2021 citing the present Covid-19 pandemic situation. However, he would submit that since certain relaxations are made by the Government in the subsequent Government Orders, they are ready to consider the fresh representation, if submitted by the petitioner.

W.P.(MD)No.2859 of 2021 Government Advocate (Criminal Side), the petitioner, if so advised, can file a fresh petition before the District Collector, Ramanathapuram District and on receipt of the same, the District Collector shall consider and pass appropriate orders on merits and in accordance with law within a period of two weeks from the date of receipt of the representation of the petitioner.

5. With the above observation, this petition is disposed of. No costs.
