O R D E R

This Writ Petition has been filed for issuance of a Writ of Mandamus, directing the first respondent herein to dispose of the petitioner's application dated 26.02.2018, pertaining to rectify the UDR mistake in FMB (Field Measurement Book) in respect of his land to an extent of 2227 3⁄4 sq. ft. in Natham Survey No.2722/2A situated at Devathanapatti Village, Periyakulam Taluk, Theni District.

2. By consent of both the parties, this writ petition is taken up for final disposal at the admission stage itself.

3. According to the petitioner, he has filed an application before the first respondent on 26.02.2018, seeking to rectify the mistake that occurred during UDR Scheme to an extent of 2227 3⁄4 sq. ft. in Natham Survey No.2722/2A situated at Devathanapatti Village, Periyakulam Taluk, Theni District. However, no action has been taken so far in spite 2/5

of several requests made by him and the said application is pending for ore than five years. Hence, the present writ petition has been filed.

4. Heard the learned counsel for the petitioner and the learned Special Government Pleader appearing for the respondents.

Considering the above said facts, this Court, without expressing any opinion on the merits of the matter, directs the first respondent to consider the petitioner's application dated 26.02.2018 and pass appropriate orders, on merits and in accordance with law, after affording reasonable opportunity to the parties concerned, within a period of sixteen weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

6. With the above directions, this Writ Petition is disposed of. No costs.
