Respondents P RAYER : Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India for issuance of Writ of Mandamus, directing the respondents herein to permit the petitioner herein to participate in the ensuing Medical Examination for selection in the Common Recruitment for the posts of Grade II Police Constable, as per Advertisement No.1/2019 dated 06.03.2019 for the year 2019 and declare the petitioner's result as per cut off mark of 69 and allow the petitioner for further participation of selection process on merit and in accordance with law.

The petitioner is aggrieved against the non-selection in the Common Recruitment for the post of Grade-II Police Constable. According to the petitioner, he has secured 69 marks and therefore, he is entitled to the selection.

Today, when the matter was called, the learned Additional Advocate General had placed reliance on the written instructions of the first respondent and submitted that the petitioner had secured 56 marks in the written test, 12 marks in the physical efficiency test and in total, has secured 68 marks only. https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/ 1/2

It is further stated that the petitioner falls behind the last candidate under Schedule Caste (General) (PSTM) category, who had secured 69 marks and was ranked at 5130 as against the petitioner's ranking 5669. In view of the same, I do not find any infirmity in the non-selection of the petitioner's candidature. Accordingly, the writ petition stands dismissed. No costs. Consequently, connected miscellaneous petition is closed.
