Heard both sides.

2. The prayer in the writ petition is that the garbage should not be dumped in the estuary of the Gopalapattinam River in Nattanipurasakudi in Avudaiyarkovil Taluk, Pudukkottai District.

3. No exception can be taken to the said prayer and the estuary has to be kept free of any kind of polluting activities. The garbage collected from the residence in the nearby villages will have to be appropriately disposed of. It is for the local body and the District Administration to evolve suitable mechanism and the dumping garbage in the estuary cannot be permitted.
