PRAYER: Petition filed under Section 482 of the Code of Criminal Procedure, to direct the first and second respondents to provide police protection to the petitioner and his family members. For Petitioner : Ms.R.Ranjitha For Respondents 1&2 : Mr.A.Robinson Government Advocate (Criminal Side)

ORDER

This petition is filed seeking for a direction to the first and second respondents to provide police protection to the petitioner and his family members.

2.Mr.A.Robinson, learned Government Advocate (Criminal side), who accepts notice on behalf of the respondents, on instructions, would contend that based on the complaint lodged by the petitioner, the First Information Report in Crime No.584 of 2020 was registered by the Inspector of Police, Thiruppathur Town Police Station, Sivagangai and that two of the accused were arrested on 13.12.2020.

3.Ms.R.Ranjitha, learned counsel for the petitioner contended that after registration of the First Information Report in Crime No.584 of 2020, the petitioner lodged another complaint with the second respondent contending that the private respondents once again threatened him with dire consequences and the said complaint https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/ 1/2

Crl.O.P.(MD)No.2446 of 2021 was not considered by the concerned police.

4.The petitioner has not filed any acknowledgment for filing a second complaint. In any event, since the private respondents have been arrested by the second respondent, i do not find any reason to provide police protection to the petitioner. 5.With the above observation, this Criminal Original Petition is dismissed.
