PRAYER: Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, praying this Court to issue a Writ of Mandamus, directing the respondent to dispose of our appeal dated 23.12.2024 pending before the respondent within the time limit as fixed by this Court.

O R D E R

The instant Writ Petition has been filed by the Junior Revenue Inspectors working in the Revenue Department, Madurai, seeking a Mandamus as against the respondent for disposal of their appeal presented on 23.12.2024.

2. A perusal of the records reveal that the District Revenue Officer, Madurai, has published the panel on 12.11.2024 for promotion to the post of Senior Revenue Inspectors, Madurai District, for the year 2024. Aggrieved over the above said panel, the petitioners herein have preferred an appeal to the respondent on 23.12.2024. Since the same has not been disposed of, the present writ petition has been filed.

3. Heard the learned counsel appearing for the petitioners and the learned Additional Government Pleader appearing for the respondent.

4. Considering the above said facts, the respondent herein is directed to consider the appeal presented by the petitioners herein on 23.12.2024 and pass orders on merits and in accordance with law, within a period of twelve weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

5. With the above said observation, this Writ Petition stands disposed of. There shall be no order as to costs.
