ORDER

This writ petition has been filed for a Mandamus seeking for a direction to the first respondent to expeditiously dispose of the appeal filed by the petitioner in Application No.2019/1043203/LT dated 02.11.2019, which is pending on the file of the first respondent within a time frame to be fixed by this Court. 2.Aggrieved by the cancellation of patta, which was earlier standing in the name of the petitioner by the Tahsildar, the petitioner's son had filed a statutory appeal under the Tamil Nadu Patta Passbook Act, 1983, before the Chief Minister's Special Cell, which was forwarded to the first respondent. On the last hearing date, this Court observed that as to how the said statutory appeal is maintainable, when the same has been filed by the petitioner's son, though the aggrieved party is the petitioner. 3.Today, the learned counsel appearing for the petitioner has filed an additional typed set of papers enclosing the copy of the https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/ 1/2

W.P.[MD]No.2624 of 2022 appeal filed by the petitioner in online portal before the first respondent. The status of the petitioner's appeal is also disclosed, which confirms that the petitioner has filed the appeal before the first respondent. The learned counsel appearing for the petitioner seeks earlier disposal of the appeal filed by the petitioner, which is pending on the file of the first respondent. 4.No prejudice would be caused to the respondents, if the petitioner's appeal is disposed of expeditiously, within the time frame to be fixed by this Court.

5.Accordingly, this Court directs the first respondent to dispose of the petitioner's appeal, which was filed on 17.02.2022 in the online portal of the first respondent, by passing final orders on merits and in accordance with law, after affording a fair hearing to the petitioner, within a period of four (4) months from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

6.With the aforesaid direction, this Writ Petition is disposed of. There shall be no order as to costs.
