records pertaining to the impugned punitive transfer in Rc.No.B1/21956/2025, R.O.No.469/2025, dated 23.12.2025, dispatch signed on 29.12.2025 on the file of the respondent No.1 and the consequential relieving order C.No.A2/13175/2025, B.O.No. 71/2026 dated 21.01.2026, dispatch signed on 23.01.2026 on the file of the respondent No.2 and quash the same as illegal. For Petitioner : Mr.S.Louis For Respondents : Mr.C.Venkatesh Kumar, Special Government Pleader C O M M O N O R D E R The petitioners are working as Havildars at TSP XII Battalion, Ramanathapuram. By order dated 23.12.2025, they have been transferred from Ramanathapuram to Vellore District and that too on adverse grounds. Challenging the same, these writ petitions have been filed.

2.Mr.C.Venkatesh Kumar, learned Special Government Pleader, who took notice for the respondents submits that the petitioners are working in the same place for more than three years 4/8

and due to administrative reasons, they have been transferred and the transfer order is not punitive in nature. He further submits that the transfer in Government service is an incident. 3.This Court, while entertaining these writ petitions has granted an order of interim stay and also suggested the respondents to find out the possibility of accommodating the petitioners in nearby places. Though the learned Special Government Pleader insisted that the transfer is an incident of service and the transfer is on administrative grounds, on the directions of this Court, has got instructions from the respondents and submits that the petitioners have been accommodated in Palani, Trichy and Coimbatore respectively. The learned Special Government Pleader has also produced copies of orders, in R.O.Nos.59, 58 & 60, dated 06.02.2026, passed by the Inspector General of Police, Armed Police, Chennai.

4.The petitioners claim that they have not joined in the transferred places so far, in view of the interim order granted by this Court and therefore, the interrugnnaum period may be treated as eligible earned leave period.

5.In view of the aforesaid submissions made by the learned Special Government Pleader that the petitioners have been accommodated at Palani, Trichy and Coimbatore respectively, these writ petitions are closed. Since it is reported that the petitioners have not joined as per the impugned transfer orders, in view of the interim order granted by this Court, the interrugnnaum period shall be treated as eligible earned leave period.
