PRAYER: Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India praying to issue a Writ of Habeas Corpus, directing the respondents to produce the body or person of the detenue namely Murugeshwari, D/o.Mayilvel, aged 17 years, before this Court and to hand over her to the custody of the petitioner based on the representation dated 27.01.2026.

O R D E R
(Order of the Court was made by G.K.ILANTHIRAIYAN, J.) This Habeus Corpus Petition has been filed to direct the respondents to produce the body or person of the detenue namely Murugeshwari, D/o.Mayilvel, aged 17 years, before this Court and to hand over her to the custody of the petitioner based on the representation dated 27.01.2026.
2. The petitioner is the father of the minor victim girl namely Murugeshwari aged about 17 years and she was missing from the house from 19.01.2026, therefore the petitioner lodged complaint before the third respondent and the third respondent registered a case in Crime No.76 of 2025 under 'Girl Missing'. On investigation the respondents 2 and 3 found that the minor victim girl eloped with the fourth respondent and she is not residing at Gujarat. Further on 30.01.2026 the minor victim girl had spoken with her mother for more than 20 minutes and on the same day she has also spoken to the cousin sister by name Gayathri for about 20 minutes. Further the petitioner was also enquired. The victim was born on 28.11.2008 and as such she also requested her parents to leave her alone to live with the fourth respondent.
3. In view of the same, the third respondent is directed to complete the investigation in Crime No.76 of 2025 and file final report as expeditiously as possible preferably within a period of twelve weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
4. With the above direction, the Habeus Corpus Petition stands disposed of.
