ORDER

The Criminal Original Petition has been filed seeking for a direction to the Additional District and Sessions Judge, Mahila Court, Madurai to dispose of the proceedings in S.C.No.19 of 2017. 2.Heard the learned counsel appearing for the petitioner and the learned Additional Public Prosecutor appearing for the respondent.

3.The learned counsel for the petitioner would submit that the petitioner is the father of the deceased and L.W.1 in S.C.No.19 of 2017, pending on the file of the Additional District and Sessions Judge, Mahila Court, Madurai, for the offences under Section 302 IPC r/w 34 IPC and Section 4 of TNPHW Act. He would further submit that the petitioner is aged about 75 years, her daughter is the deceased/victim. Though the final report has been filed and the case has been taken up in S.C.No.19 of 2017, there is no progress for the past three years.

4.The learned Additional Public Prosecutor for the respondent would submit that there are 33 witnesses in this case and that the case is posted for trial on 14.04.2020.

Crl.O.P.[MD].No.2576 of 2020 5.In view of the same, the Criminal Original Petition stands disposed of with a direction to the learned Additional District and Sessions Judge, Mahila Court, Madurai, to complete the trial in S.C.No.19 of 2017, within a period of six months from the next hearing date (14.04.2020).
