The Criminal Original Petition has been filed to direct the second respondent not to harass the petitioner and his family members in the name of the enquiry.

2. Today, when the matter is taken up for hearing, the learned Additional Public Prosecutor appearing for the respondent police would submit that the petitioner's son one Sankar was arrayed as accused No.2 in Crime No. 282 of 2018 registered by the respondent police for the offences under Section 3(1)(r), 3(1)(s) of SC/ST Atrocity Act. The respondent police has issued summons for taking finger prints, he did not turned up and thereby, the respondent police has visited the house of the petitioner to summon him. Crl.O.P.(MD).No.2583 of 2020 appeared before them and has also given his finger prints. He would further submit that the respondent police have not harassed the petitioner. It is made clear that the petitioner is not an accused in crime No.282 of 2018. In such circumstances, the respondent police shall not harass the petitioner in the guise of enquiry. The statement is recorded.

3. Recording the same, the Criminal Original Petition stands closed.
