This Writ Petition is filed to direct the first respondent to rectify the mistakes made in the revenue records of the petitioner's land in Cumbum Town Survey No.11/3A2 in the respect of entries, such as 'Old Survey Number' as well as 'Type of land' and consequently, to direct the respondents 1 and 2 to grant patta to the petitioner in respect of his land in Cumbum Town Survey No.11/3A2, to an extent of 2599 Sq. Ft. situating in Block 24, Ward D, Cumbum Town By considering the petitioner's representation dated 17.12.2025 and 19.01.2026. 2/6

2. By consent, the Writ Petition is taken up for final disposal at the admission stage itself.

3. Since no adverse orders are going to be passed against the respondents 3 and 4, notice to the respondents 3 and 4 is hereby dispensed with.

4. The grievance of the petitioner is that the petitioner purchased the property from one Muralidaran vide sale deed dated 30.11.2022 in Doc. No.7337/2022. Thereafter, he approached the respondents seeking issuance of patta in his name. On 20.09.2024, the fourth respondent orally informed that the classification of the land was updated as "Sarkar Poramboke". Hence, the petitioner submitted a representations dated 17.12.2025 and 19.01.2026 to the respondents seeking rectification of the said mistakes. However, no enquiry has been initiated and no action has been taken for rectification. Hence, the petitioner has been constrained to file the present Writ Petition.

5. The learned Additional Government Pleader appearing for the respondents, on instructions, would submit that the petitioner's 3/6

representations dated 17.12.2025 and 19.01.2026 would be considered and appropriate orders would be passed by the respondents within a period of fourteen weeks.

Recording the above submission and without expressing any opinion on the merits of the matter, this Writ Petition is disposed of with a direction to the respondents to consider the petitioner's representation dated 17.12.2025 and 19.01.2026 and pass appropriate orders on its merits and in accordance with law within a period of fourteen weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. The representations shall be disposed of after conducting an enquiry. The respondents is also directed to provide a reasonable opportunity of hearing to the petitioner and any other interested parties who may be affected by such decision, before passing any order. In the event of any rival claims, the parties are at liberty to pursue their remedies before the competent Civil Court. There shall be no order as to costs.
