ORDER : The Court made the following order :- Heard the learned counsel appearing for the petitioners, the learned counsel appearing for the intervener and the learned Government Advocate(Crl. Side) appearing for the respondent.

2. The petitioners apprehending arrest at the hands of the respondent police for the offences under sections 420 and 506(ii) of I.P.C., in Crime No.46 of 2020 on the file of the respondent police, seek anticipatory bail.

3. It is seen that the first petitioner was running a manpower placement agency. The second petitioner is said to be an employee in the said agency. The specific case of the prosecution is that a sum of Rs.1,80,00,000/- was received by the petitioners by promising the victims that they will be provided with government employment. https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/ 1/2

4. It is claimed by the intervener's counsel that there are 83 victims. The learned Government Advocate (Crl. Side) states that a sum of Rs.31,00,000/- was remitted through the bank account. The remaining amount is said to have been paid by way of cash. The petitioners' counsel would claim that they have been cheated by few other persons and that they are the real culprits.

5. Crime No.405 of 2019 was registered at the instance of the first petitioner herein before Thoothukudi Central Police Station.

6. Receipt of the amount by the petitioners appears to have been established. Since it is a case of job racketing and considerable sum is involved, I am of the view of the custodial interrogation of the petitioners are necessary. Hence, I am not inclined to grant relief and the criminal original petition stands dismissed.
