ORDER

The prosecution has filed this petition seeking extension of time to conclude the enquiry as directed by this Court on 15.07.2024 in W.P.(MD)No.14168 of 2024.

2. This Court, by its order dated 15.07.2024 in W.P.(MD)No.14168 of 2024, taking cognizance on the complaint made by the respondent that the then BDO along with the Vice President and Panchayat Secretary has misappropriated to the tune of Rs.2,56,30,207/- by creating false records, directed the Vigilance and Anti-Corruption Department to conclude the enquiry within a period of three months.

3. The learned Additional Public Prosecutor submits that they have conducted the investigation and fixed the accused, however, necessary permission has to be obtained from the concerned authority under Section 17A of the Prevention of Corruption Act, 2018. He further submits that Additional Secretary to the Government has given the date on 28.02.2025 for examining the request of the Vigilance and Anti-Corruption Department for providing necessary sanction under Section 17A of the Prevention of Corruption Act, 2018 for the 5th accused, namely, Hemalatha. He further submits that the investigating agency has obtained necessary 2/3

permission under Section 17A of the Prevention of Corruption Act, 2018, for other accused Nos.1 to 4. Therefore, he seeks for extension of time to conclude the enquiry as directed by this Court on 15.07.2024 in W.P.(MD)No.14168 of 2024.
