ORDER

This Writ Petition has been filed for issuance of a Writ of Mandamus, directing the respondents to provide adequate and effective police protection to the life and personal liberty of the petitioner, including security with armed police personnel, based on the petitioner's representation dated 14.01.2026.

2. The contention of the petitioner is that he is having a dispute with one Palani, who was a contractor supplying cars. The petitioner has now purchased his own car and has not availed the services of the said Palani. Now, the said Palani is allegedly threatening the petitioner.

3. The learned counsel appearing for the intervenor submitted that the said Palani has not indulged in any such activities. It is further submitted that two First Information Reports were filed by the petitioner - one against the said Palani, which was stayed by this Court, and another against one Rajendran, which is still pending. The above submissions are recorded.

4. The prosecution is directed to proceed further in accordance with law in the First Information Report. However, while doing so, the prosecution shall take into consideration the stay granted by this Court. As far as the request of the petitioner for grant of armed police personnel is concerned, the petitioner has submitted a representation dated 14.01.2026 to the first respondent. The first respondent is directed to provide armed police personnel. However, the same shall be provided at the cost of the petitioner.
