*********** This writ petition has been filed for a Mandamus seeking for a direction to the respondent to provide drinking water connection pipe-line to the petitioner's house bearing Door No.15/32A at Lakshmanam Naicker Street, Neikkarapatti based on his application dated 02.08.2007 within a time frame to be stipulated by this Court. 2.The petitioner claims that he is the absolute owner of the aforementioned property. The petitioner has submitted an application on 02.08.2007 with the respondent seeking for drinking water pipeline connection. Since the said application has not been considered till date, despite a lapse of several years, the petitioner has filed this writ petition.

3.Heard Mr.D.Venkatesh, learned Counsel for the writ petitioner and Mr.S.Shanmugavel, learned Additional Government Pleader who accepts notice on behalf of the respondent.

4.The relief sought for by the petitioner is an innocuous one. No prejudice would be caused to the respondent if the petitioner's application dated 02.08.2007 seeking for drinking water pipeline connection is considered on merits and in accordance with law. https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/ 1/2

W.P.[MD]No.2714 of 2022 5.Accordingly, this Court directs the respondent to consider the petitioner's application dated 02.08.2007 seeking for drinking water pipeline connection for his house bearing Door No.15/32A at Lakshmanam Naicker Street, Neikkarapatti and pass final orders on merits and in accordance with law within a period of twelve [12] weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. 6.With the above direction, this Writ Petition stands disposed of. There shall be no order as to costs.
