(Crime No.238 of 2016) : Respondent Prayer: Petition is filed under Section 482 of the Criminal Procedure Code praying to grant direction, directing the learned Judicial Magistrate No.1, Kovilpatti, to complete the trial expeditiously in S.T.C.No.1018 of 2016, within the time limit that may be stipulated by this Court.

ORDER

This petition has been filed seeking for a direction to the learned Judicial Magistrate No.1, Kovilpatti, to dispose of the case in S.T.C.No.1018 of 2016, as expeditiously as possible.

2. The grievance of the petitioner is that even though the matter taken cognizance in the year 2016, sofar the trial has not yet been commenced. Therefore, the petitioner has filed this petition to dispose of the case in S.T.C.No.1018 of 2016 as expeditiously as possible.

3. Today, when the matter was taken up for hearing, the learned Government Advocate (Crl. side) on instructions submitted that now the case is posted on 03.09.2019 for trial and the witnesses will appear on that date before the learned Judicial Magistrate No.1, Kovilpatti.

4. Considering the facts and circumstances of the case and also considering the fact that the case is pending from the year 2016, the learned Judicial Magistrate No.1, Kovilpatti, is directed to complete the trial, within a period of three months from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

5. With the above directions, the Criminal Original Petition stands disposed of.
