This Writ Petition has been filed in the nature of Mandamus seeking a direction against the second respondent to return an amount of Rs.84,07,404/- paid as Further Security Deposit (FSD) and Earnest Money Deposit (EMD) in years 2018-2019, 2019-2020 and 2021-2022. 2.Heard Mr.C.Joseph Sathianeson, learned Counsel for the petitioner and Mr.J.Ashok, learned Additional Government Pleader for the first respondent.

3.In the affidavit filed in support of this Writ Petition, it had been stated that the petitioner is a Class-I contractor carrying on work in the said Municipality. It had been stated that in the aforementioned years, he had participated in commercial tender contract and also done work. He had also completed the work. He had given representations for return of Further Security Deposit (FSD) and Earnest Money Deposit (EMD). 4.A direction is given to the respondent that if the petitioner is otherwise eligible for return of the amount, to return the said amount by 2/4

the second respondent on or before 30.04.2023. 5.No further orders are required.
