Writ Petitions filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India for issuance of Writ of Mandamus, directing the respondents no 1 to 3 to extend the period of the petitioners joining at Saveetha Medical College Chennai in post Graduate (Dermatology) course for the current academic year until the publication of results of the counselling conducted by the 4th and 5th respondents for the candidate to be admitted in the State quota.

When the matter was taken up for hearing today, the learned counsel for the petitioner submitted that the petitioner is a medical student seeking admission in Post Graduate (Dermatology) course at 2/5

Saveetha Medical College, Chennai for the current academic year. Therefore, the petitioner seeks an extension of the period to join the said course until the publication of the results of the counselling conducted by the fourth and fifth respondents for candidates to be admitted under the State Quota.

2. In response to the aforesaid submission, the learned Additional Government Pleader, as well as the learned Deputy Solicitor General appearing on behalf of respondents 1 to 3 submitted that the petitioner had already joined the course on the last date of admission and hence, the matter has now become infructuous.

3. Recording the said submissions, this writ petition is dismissed as infructuous. There shall be no order as to costs. Consequently, connected miscellaneous petition is closed. 04.02.2025 Index : Yes / No Internet : Yes / No PKN 3/5
