O R D E R

This Criminal Original Petition has been filed seeking a direction to the third respondent to file a final report in Crime No.640 of 2014, within the time stipulated by this Court.

2. According to the petitioner, he is arrayed as Accused No.8 in Crime No.640 of 2014 registered on the file of the third respondent for the offences under Sections 147, 294(b), 323, 336 and 354 of the Indian Penal Code r/w Section 3 of TNPPDL Act, based on the complaint given by the fourth respondent herein. Even though, the case was registered in the month of October, 2014, investigation has not yet been completed. Hence, the petitioner has filed the present petition.

3. Today, when the matter is taken up for hearing, the learned Additional Public Prosecutor appearing for the respondents 1 to 3, on instructions, submitted that the investigation in Crime No.640 of 2014 was completed and final report will be filed, within a period of one month, before the concerned Jurisdictional Court.

4. Considering the facts and circumstances of the case and also considering the fact that the case was registered as early as on 22.10.2014, the third respondent police is directed to file a final report, within a period of one month from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

5. The Criminal Original Petition is disposed of with the above direction.
