ORDER

The petitioner, who claims to be the Zonal President of Veerakeralampudur Taluk for the Tamil Nadu Village Administrative Officers Association, has lodged a complaint on the file of the first respondent stating that with regard to the distribution of free colour Televisions, the maintenance charge of Rs.10/- per Television is to be provided to the jurisdiction of the Village Administrative Officers and instead of paying to them, a sum of Rs.2,76,290/- have been misappropriated.

2. On behalf of the first and second respondents, a common counter affidavit has been filed and it is stated among other things that the reminder sent by the petitioner on 25.07.2014 was received by the Department of Vigilance and Anti Corruption on 01.08.2014 and after perusing the contents of the petition, it was found that allegations were levelled against some Tahsildars and therefore, it has been forwarded to the jurisdictional District Collector, Tirunelveli on 14.08.2014 for necessary action and it is further stated that the petitioner did not disclose any specific offence under the Prevention of Corruption Act.

3. In the light of the stand taken by the respondents 1 and 2 in the counter affidavit, this Criminal Original Petition is closed. However, the petitioner is at liberty to pursue the remedy before the District Collector, Tirunelveli and it is also open to him to avail any other remedy in accordance with law.
