ORDER : The Court made the following order :- This Criminal Original Petition has been filed by the petitioner on 04.02.2025 under Section 483 of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita (BNSS) praying to grant bail. 1/4
2. The petitioner/ A1 was arrested and remanded to judicial custody on 23.08.2024 for the alleged offences punishable under Sections 308(2), 311, 331(4) and 332(a) of Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), 2023 in Crime No.285 of 2024 on the file of the respondent-police.
3. The case of the prosecution is that on 18.07.2024, at about 01.00 a.m., the petitioner and other accused persons committed the offence of robbery in the house of the defacto complainant. They robbed 78 3/4 sovereigns of gold jewels by threatening and attacking the defacto complainant and her father at knife point. Hence the case.

Mr.R.Arjunram, the learned counsel appearing for the petitioner submits that the petitioner has been falsely implicated in this case and the petitioner has not committed any offence as alleged by the prosecution. He further submitted that the petitioner has been in judicial custody since 23.08.2024. He therefore prays to grant bail to the petitioner.

Mr.R.Meenakshi Sundaram, the learned Additional Public Prosecutor appearing for the respondent-police, submits that the petitioner is from Andhra Pradesh and he has 24 previous cases out of which 23 are similar in nature. He further submits that charge sheet has been filed in this case. He strongly opposed for grant of bail to the petitioner.

6. Heard on both sides. This Court has perused the records.
7. This is second bail application before this Court. The petitioner has 24 previous cases, out of which 23 are similar in nature and other one is a murder case. In view of the antecedents of this petitioner, this Court is of the view that though charge sheet has been filed in this case, if the petitioner is released on bail, there is much possibility of him absconding and thereby, delaying the trial proceedings. There is also much possibility of committing similar offence. In the facts and circumstances, this Court is not inclined to grant bail to the petitioner.
