Respondents PRAYER: Writ Petition is filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, for the issuance of Writ of Mandamus, directing the first respondent, Government of Tamil Nadu to appoint a commission enquire the accident took place in Fire Work Units on 12.02.2021 at Sri Mariammal Fire Works Factory, Virudhunagar District and find out the truth in order to prevent fire accidents in future and direct the respondents 2 to 5 to take appropriate action to cancel the license and other actions as against the fire unit owner and further direct the first respondent to give adequate compensation to the victims, who died and got injured in the fire accident Virudhunagar. 1/3

ORDER
[Order of the Court was made by The Hon'ble Chief Justice] The matter pertains to several accidents which took place a few months back at fireworks factories in Virudhunagar District. 2.A status report has been filed by the second respondent pursuant to a direction issued on February 25, 2021. 3.The report refers to several measures having been adopted, relief having been provided and the like. It also appears that the National Green Tribunal has taken suo motu notice and registered Case No.44/2021 and appointed a Committee consisting of eight members headed by Justice K.Kannan, a retired Judge of this Court and of the High Court of Punjab and Haryana.
4.Since an appropriate Tribunal having due authority to deal with the matter has taken suo motu cognizance of the incidents and is looking into the matter, it is hoped that the Tribunal will bring the matter to a logical conclusion for the benefit of all concerned. 5.In the light of the Tribunal having taken up the matter, W.P (MD)No.3581 of 2021 is disposed of.
6.There will be no order as to costs.
