PRAYER :- for bail in Crime No. 218 of 2019 on the file of the respondent police.

ORDER : The Court made the following order :- Heard the learned counsel appearing for the petitioner and the learned Government Advocate(Crl. Side) appearing for the respondent.

2. The petitioner is in custody since 24.12.2019 for the offence punishable under section 380 of I.P.C., in Crime No.218 of 2019 on the file of the respondent police. He seeks bail.

3. The case of the prosecution is that on 16.04.2019, a little past midnight, when the defacto complainant came out to answer the call of nature, the chain snatching incident had taken place. CRL OP(MD). No.2629 of 2020 involvement came to light later. But then, the stolen chain was recovered as such. It has since been handed over to the complainant through the Court.

4. The learned Government Advocate (Crl.side) would state that the petitioner is involved in few other cases. In as much as, the petitioner along with another accused is alleged to have committed the crime at the dead of the night, I am not inclined to grant relief to the petitioner. Hence, this criminal original petition stands dismissed.
