Respondents Prayer : Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, praying this Court to issue a Writ of Mandamus, directing the respondents 1 to 4 to ensure our rights and protection to perform customary practice of Puja and Peaceful Worship in "Alagunatchi Amman" temple during the "Maasi Kalari" festival to be conducted from 07.03.2024 to 09.03.2024 by considering the petitioner's representation dated 29.01.2024.

2.The prayer in the writ petition cannot be granted because the writ Court cannot decide who is a Poojari.

3.Be that as it may, the learned counsel appearing for the respondents states that the petitioner can also offer his worship along with others. But on the particular date (Maasi Kallarai and Thai Festival) to be held from 07.03.2024 to 09.03.2024, the petitioner cannot enter what is known as "Karuvarai". On other days, the petitioner can enter even "Karuvarai" and offer his worship. If the petitioner is still having any grievance, it is always open to the petitioner to establish his rights before the jurisdictional civil Court.

4. With this liberty to writ petitioner and recording the stand of the private respondents, this writ petition is disposed of. There shall be no order as to costs.
