Prayer: Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India to issue Writ of Mandamus directing the Respondents to grant permission and police protection to conduct Adal Padal Dance programme on 18.02.2021 in connection with the festival of Arulmighu Sri Thiruvotti Ayyanar Thirukovil at Vethiyarenthal, Keelapasalai Post, Manamadurai Taluk, Sivagangai District. ORDER

By consent, this Writ Petition is taken up for final hearing at the admission stage itself.

2. Mr.R.Saravana Kumar, learned Government Advocate (Criminal Side) accepts notice for the respondents.

3. Mr.V.Manikandan, learned counsel appearing for the petitioner would submit that the petitioner is one of the organizers of festival committee of Arulmighu Sri Thiruvotti Ayyanar Thirukovil at Vethiyarenthal, Keelapasalai Post, Manamadurai Taluk, Sivagangai District and that cultural events are scheduled to be conducted on 18.02.2021. His further contention is that he has submitted a representation dated 02.02.2021 to the respondents seeking permission to conduct the said programme and till date, no action has been taken by the respondents.

4. In the circumstances, without going into the merits of the claim made by the petitioner, this Court directs the second respondent to consider the representation of the petitioner and pass appropriate orders in accordance with law, and based on merits https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/ 1/2

W.P.(MD)No.3083 of 2021 within a period of two weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order/uploading of the order.

5. With the above observation, this petition is disposed of. No costs.
