Prayer: Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India to issue Writ of Mandamus directing the second respondent to grant permission to conduct the cultural programme on 26.02.2021 in connection with the festival of Sri Yanamalai Narasinga Perumal Temple at Yanamalai Narasingam, Y.Othakadai, Madurai District. By consent, this Writ Petition is taken up for final hearing at the admission stage itself.
2.Mr.A.Robinson, learned Government Advocate (Criminal Side) accepts notice for the respondents.
3.Mr.A.Puranthara Dhas, learned counsel appearing for the petitioner would submit that the petitioner is one of the organizers of the festival committee of Sri Yanamalai Narasinga Perumal Temple at Yanamalai Narasingam, Y.Othakadai, Madurai District and that cultural events are scheduled to be held on 26.02.2021. His further contention is that he submitted a representation dated 09.02.2021 to the respondents seeking permission to conduct the said programme and till date, no action has been taken by the respondents. https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/ 1/2
W.P.(MD)No.3213 of 2021 4.The contention of Mr.A.Robinson, learned Government Advocate is that the representation submitted by the petitioner is pending for consideration.
5.In the circumstances, without going into the merits of the claim made by the petitioner either in his representation or in the affidavit filed in support of this writ petition, this Court directs the second respondent to consider the representation of the petitioner and pass appropriate orders in accordance with law and based on merits and on findings, within a period of two weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order/uploading of the order. 6.With the above observation, this petition is disposed of. No costs.
