Prayer: Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of Constitution of India, to issue a Writ of Certiorari, to call for the records relating to the impugned order of 3rd respondent in REVSKL/645/2025-B4 dated 28.10.2025 and 19.01.2026 and quash the same as illegal.

For Petitioner : Mr.V.S.Kishok Kumar For Respondents : Mr.C.Venkatesh Kumar Special Government Pleader

ORDER

The grievance of the writ petitioner is that while the District Revenue Officer is seized of the matter, the impugned order under Section 6 of the Act is sought to be enforced.

2.According to the petitioner, the land in question was originally classified as "natham" and during UDR it was mutated as "water body". Since any error that had taken place during UDR can be corrected only by the District Revenue Officer, the petitioner approached the District Revenue Officer who is seized of the matter. Summon was issued to the petitioner and the petitioner also appeared for the enquiry. In the meanwhile, an eviction order has been passed, and steps are being taken to enforce the same. 2/5

3.Taking into account the fact that the District Revenue Officer is seized of the matter, we direct the Tahsildar, Sankarankovil to keep the impugned proceedings in abeyance for a period of eight weeks. The District Revenue Officer is directed to conclude the enquiry and pass order one way or the other within a period of four weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. We make it clear that we have not gone into the merits of the matter. 4.This Writ Petition is disposed of accordingly. No costs. Consequently, connected miscellaneous petitions are closed.
