PRAYER: Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, to issue a writ of mandamus directing the respondents to take effective steps to implement the Right to Public Services Act in Tamilnadu State so as to people getting time bound delivery of services for various public services rendered by the Government and to punish the errant public servant who is deficient in providing the service stipulated under the statute and to reduce corruption among the government officials and to increase transparency and public accountability, by considering the representation of the petitioner dated 26.12.2020 within a time frame as stipulated by this Court. O R D E R

[Order of the Court was made by S.M.SUBRAMANIAM, J.] The writ on hand has been instituted seeking a direction to the respondents to take effective steps to implement the Right to Public Services Act in Tamilnadu State so as to enable the people to get time bound delivery of services for various public services rendered by the Government and to punish

the errant public servant who is deficient in providing the service stipulated under the statute and to reduce corruption among the government officials and to increase transparency and public accountability, by considering the representation of the petitioner dated 26.12.2020 within a time frame as stipulated by this Court.

2. The general prayer as such sought for in this writ petition cannot be granted. The petitioner appearing in person would submit that in the States of Rajasthan, Kerala and Gujarat, the Right to Public Services Act has been passed. However, no such Act has been passed by the Government of Tamil Nadu.

3. In this regard, learned Government Pleader appearing for the respondents 2 to 4 furnished a copy of the Government Order in G.O.(Ms) No. 25, Human Resource Management (A) Department, dated 04.06.2025, stating that the grievance petitions submitted by the citizens will be disposed of within a period of thirty days and therefore, the petitioner, in the event of submitting any petition, it will be considered and decided by the authorities concerned, within the time limit as prescribed in the said Government Order.

4. In view of the above submission, granting liberty to the petitioner to submit an application to the authority concerned, if he has any grievance, for redressal of his grievance, this writ petition is disposed of. No costs.
