This Writ Petition has been filed seeking for issuance of a Writ of Mandamus directing the respondents to settle the arrears of payment that is due and payable to the petitioner for the work that has already been completed by the petitioner pursuant to the agreement dated 16.02.2018. 2.Heard Mr.M.Gururaj, learned Counsel for the petitioner and Mr.A.K.Manikkam, learned Special Government Pleader appearing for the respondent.

3.There is no dispute with regard to the fact that the services of the petitioner were utilised by the respondent and the petitioner has also completed the work in the year 2018. There is also no dispute with regard to the fact that a total sum of Rs.13,15,192/- is due and payable to the petitioner. Out of this amount, only a sum of Rs.10,01,514/- has been paid and the balance of Rs.3,13,678/- is due and payable to the petitioner. 4.The learned Special Government Pleader appearing on behalf of the respondent submitted that if some time is given, this amount will be 2/4

settled in favour of the petitioner.

5.In the light of the undisputed facts, there shall be a direction to the respondent to settle the balance amount of Rs.3,13,678/- within a period of four weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. If there is any delay in settling the amount in favour of the petitioner, the respondent will be liable to pay interest at the rate of 6% per annum from 2018 till the date of repayment of the balance amount. 6.This Writ Petition is disposed of with the above directions.
